April 14th, 2025
Good day, EPE Community.
We hav a few quick announcements. First, thank you to the EPE PTA and all of the parents who made this past Friday’s Used Book Sale a huge success. There is nothing better than seeing kids holding books and smiling!
Second, please know that there is no school for students this Friday. It is a school improvement day so they will have a 3-day weekend! Enjoy.
Third, congratulations to the 7th and 8th graders at Edison Park Elementary for successfully completing the “Stop the Bleed” and Hands-Only CPR courses last week!
The students did an outstanding job practicing life-saving skills on mannequins and gaining valuable knowledge that could make a real difference in an emergency.
A huge thank you to Patricia Schmidt from Lurie Children’s Hospital for leading the training and helping empower our students with these critical techniques!

| We are writing to you today because Edison Park Elementary is in the process of developing a school-wide policy regarding the use of food at celebrations and events. We recognize the important role that celebrations and special events play in our school community and understand that food has often been a part of these occasions. However, we also want to be mindful of the increasing prevalence of food allergies and our commitment to promoting healthy eating habits among our students. To ensure that our new policy reflects the diverse perspectives and needs of our school community, we would greatly appreciate your input. Please take a moment to complete the following google form, which is designed to gather your thoughts and suggestions on this important topic.GOOGLE FORM LINK HERE Mrs. Martha Carman K-5 Physical Education & 6-8 Health TeacherEdison Park Elementary School | |

| The annual My Voice My School Parent survey is an incredible opportunity for parents’/guardians’ important perspective to be heard. Parents and guardians of CPS students are invited to complete a survey about their child’s school between April 1, 2025 and May 17, 2025. The survey takes about 5-10 minutes to complete, it is available in several languages, and it is completely anonymous. We appreciate all parents/guardians who take a few minutes to participate in the My Voice My School Parent Survey. | |
