Tonight is EPE Restaurant Night at Portillo’s! Enjoy an evening of not cooking or cleaning up AND support the school at the same time. Not a bad evening! Grab yourself an extra piece of chocolate cake while you’re at it!

Fall Fest will be here before you know it! If you are interested in helping with the event by donating candy, decorating your car for Trunk or Treat, or volunteering during the event, fill out this Fall Fest Sign Up form to let us know. Thank you for your support and making these events a success for our kids!

If you’re looking for other ways or events to help with throughout the year, fill out this PTA Sign Up form to get started! Thank you!

Reminder:

Dental Exams-All Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 6th grade, and 9th grade must have a dental exam completed by a licensed dentist before May 15th of the school year. In partnership with the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), CPS offers on-site, preventative dental services at no cost to ALL Pre-K-12th grade students. Schools are assigned a dentist or can be requested; for more information and dental resources view the Dental Services and Requirements letter.

Current Open Parent Position (through June 2026): We currently have TWO open parent positions on the LSC and taking applications through Friday, October 4th by 3 pm (see attachment). Applications must be turned into the main office in person and the person must have TWO forms of identification. Applications will be reviewed in preparation for the October 8th LSC meeting. If you have any questions, please contact Camille at [email protected].

SY25 Student SEL Skills Inventory

This year, our school will administer one or more surveys for measuring students’ social and emotional competencies. We will use the data to strategically prioritize opportunities and strategies that support students in developing social-emotional learning (SEL) skills, and as a means of evaluating whether or to what degree our priority practices and strategies are effective.

Specifically, we will administer one or both of the following:

  • The Washoe County School District Social Emotional Competency Assessment (WCSD-SECA)
  • The Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA-Mini and DESSA Diagnostic)

If you would like more information, please see the attached document.
